Indigenous Engagement

AS A MAJORITY INDIGENOUS-OWNED COMPANY AND SUPPLY NATION REGISTERED ORGANISATION, WE BELIEVE IN DEVELOPING MEMBERS OF FIRST NATIONS COMMUNITIES TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AND PROVIDING ACCESS TO ALL AVAILABLE RESOURCES AS REQUIRED THROUGH OUR SUPPLY NATION AGREEMENT.

Arus Group recognises the social and ethical responsibilities of corporate businesses operating in our times. Our actions, systems and processes prove that we are not just paying lip service to ethical business practices. We have embedded them in everything we do because we know that this is what the future demands — and it’s the right thing.

We are committed to giving back to the community. With your support, we look after you and your people with personal protective equipment. In turn, we are committed to donating and supporting 13YARN, an Indigenous Corporation who specialise in the mental health of Indigenous Peoples; and, MATES in Construction, Mining & Energy.

13YARN offer a crisis support line for mob through confidential one-on-one yarning by first nation peoples without shame or judgement in a safe and culturally safe space.

MATES was established to reduce suicide rates through community development programs delivered on site and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 help line.

Through our parallel work with Arra Group, we support indigenous start-ups, small companies and contractors with product knowledge, all based on safety and the right workwear. We help them understand how to source and use the right PPE to get the job done and protect their workforce. We build a safety mindset, which starts with having the right protective equipment.

International Certification Beyond Australian Standards

Our main wholesale supplier, TRuWorkwear, is Australia’s first and only workwear supplier to be certified beyond Australian Standards by the international body SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit). TRuWorkear is also an industry leader as a signatory of the UN’s Global Compact in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on anti-corruption, fair labour, the environment and human rights. This means that they meet the highest standards that represent milestones toward global prosperity, helping to protect workers in the supply chain from unsafe working conditions, overwork, discrimination, low pay and forced working conditions.

Our supply chain is primarily focused on SDGs related to the safety and prosperity of Australian communities, production partners, industry stakeholders, and the international community. We join global and local corporate entities with the same commitment to SDGs, coordinating efforts toward prosperity.
